Chelsea fans want Maurizio Sarri SACKED - But has Hazard goal saved the manager?
SOME Chelsea fans have again called for manager Maurizio Sarri to be sacked after their disappointing 1-1 draw with Wolves at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues were staring down the barrel of defeat before Eden Hazard’s spectacular strike cancelled out Raul Jimenez’ opener in stoppage time.
Hazard’s strike might have given the Italian a stay of execution but a section of the Chelsea support are calling for his head right now.
“Sarri is a pathetic fool & we need to sack him while we can still salvage our season,” one furious Blue ranted on Twitter.
Another raged: “F**k Sarri ball .... Sack him please....
“He doesn't know what's he his doing.
“Hazard still the man of the match."
Another said: “Never wished Chelsea to lose a game but if it means Sarri gets the sack.. I'll take a loss."
“Standards have dropped so low,” one supporter noted. “Sack Sarri now.”
Another agreed: “why can't we just sack this loser Sarri once and for all?”
Sixth-placed Chelsea could have closed the gap on the top four with a win but now face the prospect of losing further ground as Arsenal take on Manchester United at the Emirates this afternoon.
Wolves stayed seventh but manager Nuno Espirito Santo admitted his players were sad at conceding so late.
"We performed well. It was the individual quality of one Chelsea player which allowed them to score,” he said.
"My players are sad because they know they had it. They've done a fantastic job. We were very organised and played with a great shape."
Wolves defender Conor Coady added: "When you give Eden Hazard a chance on the edge of the box he is always going to score.
"It was so disappointing to concede so late. It's a sucker punch at the end.
"There's no real fear from us coming to places like this. We know we can sit deep and attack on the counter. Our goal was outstanding but we're gutted."
