David Seaman risks angering Arsenal fans with 'selfish' Chelsea vs Tottenham revelation
ARSENAL legend David Seaman wants north London rivals Tottenham to BEAT Chelsea on Wednesday.
David Seaman reveals he wants Spurs to win against Chelsea
Tottenham are currently third in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Liverpool.
Spurs suffered a shock defeat on Saturday, going down 2-1 at Burnley to perhaps end their slim title hopes.
However, a victory at Stamford Bridge could reignite Mauricio Pochettino’s side, especially if Liverpool or Manchester City drop points at home to Watford and West Ham respectively.
Arsenal are currently fourth, seven points behind Spurs, with Manchester United fifth and Chelsea sixth.
I want Tottenham to win because I don’t think Man Utd, Arsenal, or Chelsea are going to catch them
The Blues still have a game in hand on United and Arsenal, and Seaman is desperate for the Gunners to finish in the Champions League qualification places.
And that is why on this occasion he wants Tottenham to come away from Stamford Bridge with the points.
“Only tonight and only for selfish reasons,” he told talkSPORT.
“I want Tottenham to win because I don’t think Man Utd, Arsenal, or Chelsea are going to catch them. That’s the top three.
“Obviously the next place is the most important one for us.
“So that’s why I want Tottenham to take points off Chelsea tonight, so they’re not close to us, that’s the only reason.”
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could be dropped for the match at Stamford Bridge.
Kepa refused to be substituted in extra time of the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.
But Seaman believes the Spaniard should still start against Spurs.
“Kepa showed a lack of respect for, not only his team-mates, but for his manager as well,” the former goalkeeper said.
“[He should play] because I don’t think it was just the fact that he was told to come off and he just said ‘no’.”
