Alexis Sanchez: This is how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can save Man Utd star - Sky Sports pundit
MANCHESTER UNITED interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is capable of getting Alexis Sanchez back to his best.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Sanchez needs to 'find himself'
That is the opinion of Sky Sports pundit and former England right-back Danny Mills.
Sanchez has scored just two goals in all competitions for Manchester United this season.
The former Arsenal star has started just three games since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed interim boss in December.
The Norwegian used a strange analogy to describe Sanchez’s situation in his press conference ahead of Monday’s FA Cup clash at Chelsea.
If anybody can do it, we’ve seen what Solskjaer has done, the way he cajoles people, the way he gets them playing, gets them feeling happy
“You know that bottle of ketchup when it never comes, but when it suddenly comes there’s loads,” Solskjaer said of Sanchez.
“When it comes, it comes. I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
Mills agrees Alexis Sanchez just needs a bit of luck to go his way in front of goal.
And he reckons Solskjaer is the man to get the Chilean firing again at United.
Man United: Sanchez is getting the most stick says Phil Neville
“Well I think they’re lucky, some clubs have banned ketchup haven’t they,” Mills jested.
“He could have gone with brown sauce, he’s obviously not used to those northern ways.
“It’s one of those [with Sanchez], it’s just waiting for something to happen.
"How many times have we said it with strikers? You just need that goal.
“One to go in off your shoulder, off your backside, whatever it may be, just to get going again, just to get that belief.
“He’s undoubtedly a quality player, for whatever reason it hasn’t happened for him yet at Manchester United.
“But if anybody can do it, we’ve seen what Solskjaer has done, the way he cajoles people, the way he gets them playing, gets them feeling happy.
“Maybe he can get something out of Sanchez between now and the end of the season.”
