Celtic named as 21st BIGGEST club in world... but Rangers not on the list
CELTIC are the 21st biggest club in the world, according to a list put together by France Football.
Celtic: Scott Sinclair praises team effort after St Johnstone win
There was no place on the list for their fiercest rivals Rangers, however.
They were the only Scottish team on the list comprised of 30 teams that included some of the giants of European football.
Perhaps the fact that Rangers haven’t been able to rival Celtic competitively in recent years may have something to do with their exclusion.
Celtic have won 49 league Scottish league titles, while Rangers have won 54 in their history.
Celtic, though, are going for their 50th this season, and are looking in good stead in the league to do so, as they sit six points ahead of their Glasgow rivals.
France Football’s criteria for their list were as follows:
Number of players in current squad to have won a World Cup.
Continent level titles won.
Shirts sold per year.
Annual revenue.
Record transfer fee paid.
Average attendance.
Market value of current squad.
Ballon d’Or trophies won since 1956.
Social media followers.
Clubs with the biggest mythical status.
Celtic received most of their points from the ‘average attendance’ category, with 12.
