Highest football attendances: Biggest average crowds – Man Utd top, Wembley SHOCK
ATTENDANCES figures have revealed the biggest average crowds in across the Premier League and Football League in 2018/19.
Premier League round-up: Liverpool continue to lead
Football fans are always searching for ammunition to get one over their rivals with attendance numbers always brought into debates.
Manchester United continue to dominate the charts with more than 74,000 fans flocking to Old Trafford in 2018/19.
Talks over extending the ground continue to bubble under the surface but it appears United would have no trouble selling the extra seats if they do upgrade.
Arsenal are also flying high in the charts but their north London rivals Tottenham have struggled to fill Wembley this season.
Delays to Spurs’ new home have caused friction between the board and fans who have been reluctant to continually make journeys to the national stadium.
This means despite the 90,000 capacity at Wembley, Spurs’ home attendances are nowhere near the top of the charts.
Chelsea remain among the top attendances despite boasting a smaller stadium than their top six rivals.
They are closely followed by two Championship teams, while League One Sunderland rank just outside the top 10 of all 92 professional teams in the country.
Express Sport have rounded up the top 20 average attendances in the country this season – including five non-Premier League sides.
