Arsenal transfer clause revealed by Sky Sports man Martin Tyler during Man City clash
MANCHESTER CITY will receive money if Arsenal end up signing Denis Suarez on a permanent transfer from Barcelona, according to Sky Sports’ legendary commentator Martin Tyler.
Suarez joined Arsenal from Barcelona on loan for the rest of the season on transfer deadline day.
The Gunners were unable to make any permanent signings in the January transfer window.
But they do have an option to sign Suarez outright in the summer if he impresses Unai Emery.
Arsenal are Suarez’s second club after he had two seasons at Manchester City early in his career.
If Arsenal do buy Denis Suarez from Barcelona, which is an option, City will get some money
City sold him to Barcelona and Tyler claims if Barca sell him to Arsenal, they will receive part of the fee.
And Tyler praised City for their recent dealings with young players in the market.
“If Arsenal do buy Denis Suarez from Barcelona, which is an option, City will get some money,” Tyler said.
“There's a sell-on. They have been very good at doing business with their academy players.
“Rabbi Matondo, who never played a first-team game, has been sold for a profit at the end of the window of £11million.
“Lots of academy players have served their time with Man City before being moved out.
“They are very good deals for the club.”
Head coach Emery knows Suarez well from their time together at Sevilla.
And he is hoping the midfielder can have a similar impact at Arsenal.
“We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us,” he said.
“He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla.
“He brings us quality and options in many different attacking positions, so he’ll be able to help the team.”
