Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has delivered a positive injury update ahead of the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Leicester.
Both Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are in contention to feature at the King Power Stadium as they look to shake off knocks.
Pogba suffered a groin injury during the 2-2 draw with Burnley while his French team-mate Martial missed the meeting at Old Trafford after sustaining an injury in training.
Solskjaer is optimistic about both players recovering to face Leicester, saying on Friday: “We've not had a proper session since the game, so hopefully both of them can get through that.
“I don't think there's anything with Paul.
“Anthony has done some rehab work, so he will try a session today, so I would imagine he would be available to be involved.
“He seemed happy yesterday [Thursday].”
Pogba was on target from the penalty spot to spark a fightback from two goals down against the Clarets and will come straight back into the side if fit.
However, Fred is most likely to deputise in central midfield if Pogba is unavailable after Andreas Pereira struggled in midweek.
Meanwhile, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez could all come back into the starting XI having dropped to the bench last time out.
Martial will challenge Sanchez for a place on the left flank, Marcus Rashford should retain his spot up front and Solskjaer will be tempted to keep the same back four – despite Chris Smalling’s return to fitness.
Marcos Rojo remains sidelined due to injury while Marouane Fellaini has played his last game for the club after completing his move to Shandong Luneng.
