Liverpool will beat Man City to the Premier League title on ONE condition - Sam Allardyce
LIVERPOOL will win the Premier League title this season if Manchester City drop any more points before the end of the campaign.
That is according to former England and Premier League manager Sam Allardyce.
Manchester City suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against relegation-threatened Newcastle on Tuesday.
Second-half goals from Salomon Rondon and Matt Ritchie condemned Pep Guardiola’s side to their fourth defeat of the season.
That means Liverpool can extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points on Wednesday.
They’ll have to go and win nearly all of their games from now until the end of the season, I think
The Reds host 10th-placed Leicester at Anfield and have only dropped two points at home all campaign.
Allardyce says the title race is not over yet, even if Liverpool beat Leicester.
But he reckons it will be if City drop points in their remaining 14 games.
“It’s not over,” Allardyce told talkSPORT.
“There are too many games left to say it’s over, too many things that may happen.
“But, it’s certainly going to be very difficult for anybody to overtake Liverpool.
“The mood they’re in and the determination they’ll have tonight to make that gap seven points…
“If they do win, seven points at this stage of the season, it’s going to throw the pressure back on Manchester City.
“They daren’t slip up again.
“They’ll have to go and win nearly all of their games from now until the end of the season, I think.”
Virgil van Dijk is a doubt for the visit of Leicester due to illness.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss the match due to a knee injury.
