Alvaro Morata: Chelsea fans go into MELTDOWN after Atletico Madrid move sealed
ALVARO MORATA has joined Atletico Madrid on an 18-month loan deal and some Chelsea fans are happy to see him depart.
Morata: It's a dream come true to play for Atletico Madrid
The Spanish striker moved to Stamford Bridge in 2017 with an impressive history of former clubs.
Morata had played for Juventus and Real Madrid but never performed consistently during his time in London.
After a strong start to his Chelsea career, Morata faded away and has only scored five Premier League goals this season.
Chelsea have already replaced the Spaniard, signing Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus until the end of the season.
And Blues fans don’t appear to be shedding any tears at the loss of the 26-year-old.
One wrote: “Goodbye, will hardly be missed on the pitch.”
Another added: “Tammy Abraham would have done better and cost us nothing only if we believed in our academy.”
One simply put: “Don’t come back.”

And a fourth posted: “FINALLLYYYYYYYY. NO MORE FALLING OVER EVERY TWO SECONDS.”
Another Blues fans was thankful, in a way: “Thank You... For Finally leaving.”
While one more commented: “Good luck and never come back.”
And a final fan has already thought of a future plan for Morata: “When that loan is over, loan him to China.”
Having moved back to Atletico, where Morata spent a part of his youth career, the forward appeared to aim a slight dig at Chelsea.
It comes after he found minutes limited with Blues boss Maurizio Sarri occasionally playing Eden Hazard up top ahead of him.
"I'm very happy and proud to be here,” Morata said.
“I can't wait to start training, meet my new teammates and play.”
Morata could make his Atletico Madrid debut when they travel to Real Betis on Sunday (3.15pm).
