And Thompson, who won seven top-flight titles with the Reds, believes Oxlade-Chamberlain’s impact upon return will be akin to a new signing.
And his claim has come as Klopp and co. have been linked with splashing the cash on a number of potential January transfer targets.
"It would be an absolutely brilliant addition and it would be like having a new player,” Thompson told Sky Sports of an impending comeback.
