Chelsea news: New face spotted in training as ace eyes Carabao Cup debut against Tottenham
CHELSEA welcomed an unfamiliar face to training on Tuesday as they gear up to face Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Chelsea: Conor Gallagher shows off his skills in training
Chelsea have been working hard on the training pitch ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham.
Maurizio Sarri’s men are 1-0 down following Harry Kane’s penalty at Wembley but still hold a good chance of progressing.
The two sides meet again at Stamford Bridge on Thursday (7.45pm), with the winner almost certain to meet Manchester City in the final after their 9-0 first-leg drubbing of Burton Albion.
Sarri has been reluctant to rotate his squad so far this season with the Italian settled on his preferred starting XI, but the manager dropped a clue in training that he may be about to tinker with his line-up.
Youth player Conor Gallagher was spotted working with the first team at Cobham on Tuesday, with the 18-year-old seen in discussion with Sarri during a drill.
The midfielder is a key component of the U23s side but is yet to make his senior debut for the Blues.
While it is unlikely that Gallagher will start against Spurs, Sarri could be tempted to give him some minutes depending on the state of the game.

Higuain is expected to join on a temporary deal until the end of the season, although the Juve striker, who is currently on loan at AC Milan, needs to be registered by 12pm today in order to play.
