Gonzalo Higuain Chelsea announcement has ALREADY been made to team-mates - Palmeri
GONZALO HIGUAIN has already announced he is joining Chelsea to his team-mates, according to transfer expert Tancredi Palmeri.
Chelsea: Sarri says he doesn’t know when Higuain will sign
The striker is due to complete terms on a six-month loan deal, with another year-long loan then triggered in the summer depending on appearances, goals and results.
It is likely the ex-Napoli man will make his Chelsea debut against Tottenham in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday.
Chelsea will take over Higuain's £170,000-a-week wages, after Chelsea and Juventus agreed terms on the deal on Wednesday night in Jeddah, where Juve beat AC Milan 1-0 in the Italian Supercoppa final.
Milan won't let Higuain leave until they finalise a deal for a replacement but Italian journalist Palmeri says the striker has already told team-mates he's joining.
"Higuain has announced to the teammates at Milan his departure to Chelsea during Thursday night birthday dinner of Milan’s teammate Castillejo," he tweeted.
Chelsea were unable to get Higuain's loan move from Juventus over the line in time for the striker to be on the bench at Arsenal today.
But Sarri refuses to waste his time worrying about transfers or badgering Chelsea's chief negotiator, Marina Granovskaia, for updates.
The manager said: "I don't want to be involved because I want to spend my energy in something different, on the pitch. Otherwise, for me, it's a problem.
Higuain will be BETTER at Chelsea than Real Madrid says expert
"As you know very well in England, we have to play every three days. If I spend 50 per cent of my mental energy on something different, I am in trouble on the pitch.
"That is where I want to be focused. When the club knows very well my opinion, it's enough. I am confident. I'm not able to understand why I have to be involved directly with the market.
"I don't think my job depends on the market. Not at all. I don't think so. My job is on the pitch."
