Spurs ‘working hard’ to secure Eriksen deal says Pochettino
Tottenham star Eriksen has been linked with a move away to either Real Madrid or Barcelona with his contract in north London winding down.
The former Ajax star’s current deal expires in 2020 and, so far, negotiations with Tottenham are at an impasse.
Spurs are willing to offer Eriksen a huge £250,000-a-week but the player’s concerns are reportedly not financial.
Eriksen owes a lot to Tottenham, with the club sticking by him following a turbulent start to life in England upon arriving from Ajax in the summer of 2013.
And the Independent say Eriksen will stay at the club if a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid does not happen.
Barcelona were eying the Denmark international as an alternative to Philippe Coutinho 12 months ago.
But they are no longer sniffing about the Tottenham star, given they were ultimately able to sign Coutinho from Liverpool.
Real Madrid’s interest is, however, different.
The La Liga giants would love to sign Eriksen - and the Independent say they are willing to embark on a culling of their squad to make a move happen.

Among the players to be sold may be Isco.
The Spain international has often struggled for consistency ever since joining from Malaga in 2013.
And his issues with Santiago Solari over in the capital are well-documented.
Isco could even be used as part of a swap deal for Eriksen over Tottenham, who value their playmaker at £100million.
