Arsenal transfer news: Did Aaron Ramsey have Juventus medical today?
ARSENAL ace Aaron Ramsey may have had a medical on Sunday ahead of a move to Juventus.
Aaron Ramsey situation is 'killing me' says Paul Mariner
Ramsey, who is out of contract at the Emirates in the summer, is widely expected to make the move to Turin.
It’s unclear whether the switch will be made this month, with Juve paying Arsenal a fee, or whether the move will be made when the transfer window opens again in July.
But reports in Italy suggest the Serie A giants are making their move now.
Gazzetta dello Sport claim that a medical was arranged at a secret location in London on Sunday - although there is no confirmation that the tests went through.
That’s despite rumoured interest in Ramsey from the likes of Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.
Even if Aaron Ramsey has passed the rumoured medical today, it’s claimed he will need another one in Turin before the deal is secured.
Former Gunners star Paul Merson has blamed ex-boss Arsene Wenger for letting Ramsey leave Arsenal after contract negotiations broke down.
"It's stupidity from Arsenal to allow someone of Ramsey's quality to let their contract run down," he recently told Sky Sports.
"It's yet another player after Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott.
“Players' contracts come to an end then they all leave on frees.
"In footballing terms, it's criminal.
“It's like buying an £80m house, waiting for the leasehold to run out and losing the house.
"Arsene Wenger sorted out his contract every year but seemed to forget everyone else's!
"I wouldn't mind if all these players were 35 years of age or older.
“But they are in the prime of their careers when they are playing their best football ever."
Arsenal’s next game sees them host Chelsea on Saturday (5.30pm) but it remains to be seen whether Ramsey will still be a Gunners player.
