What Man Utd players did to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when Ed Woodward brought him on stage
MANCHESTER UNITED players serenaded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when Ed Woodward brought him on stage at a club Christmas party, reports say.
Man United are 'strong' under Solskjaer says Paul Pogba
Manchester United chief Woodward turned to Solskjaer last month following the Red Devils’ decision to cut Jose Mourinho loose.
Mourinho was sacked following a nightmare start to the new Premier League season, with the club deciding enough was enough.
And the Telegraph have now revealed how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s move back to United as manager was a success right from the off.
The 45-year-old has restored happiness at Old Trafford following the dark days under Mourinho.
Not only have they won their first five games under Solskjaer.
But United’s attacking style of play has been a throwback to the entertaining style deployed by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Telegraph say that, upon being named United’s interim boss, Solskjaer took to the stage.
Woodward was the man who requested he go up.
And United players loved it - serenading a man who had won them the Champions League nearly 20 years previously.
Solskjaer then supposedly said it was his and his backroom staff’s job to put a smile on the players’ faces.
And he even said: “If you can’t enjoy yourself at United, where can you enjoy yourself?”
Paul Pogba was one of those players in attendance.
And the World Cup winner recently praised Solskjaer - who has transformed his No 6 already.
"Obviously it's good,” he said.
“The month before that [November], I wasn't playing a lot, so just being back on the pitch, playing and enjoying with the guys is good.
“It's always good for me, and I enjoy playing football and being with the guys."
United will be aiming to continue their winning run under Solskjaer when they face Tottenham on Sunday (4.30pm).
