Liverpool news: Graeme Souness singles out ONE star for criticism during Man City clash
LIVERPOOL legend Graeme Souness singled out Dejan Lovren for criticism at half time of Thursday’s clash at Manchester City.
Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren is a ‘weakness’ claims Dean Saunders
Lovren has been a regular in the Liverpool side in recent weeks with Joe Gomez missing through injury.
He has impressed alongside Virgil van Dijk in the middle of defence but could not prevent Sergio Aguero scoring against him.

Five minutes before half time of the huge clash at the Etihad, Aguero nipped in front of Lovren at the near post and fired past Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson from a tight angle.
Souness had sympathy for Lovren due to the quality of the finish but admitted the Croatian did not look for Aguero before he got the ball.
Lovren at no time looks over his left shoulder to see where he is
“He’s got on Lovren’s blindside,” Souness said of Aguero on Sky Sports.
“Lovren at no time looks over his left shoulder to see where he is.
“Let’s not be over-critical because the touch and the rest of it is just sensational.
“You’re not entitled to shoot from that angle, you’re certainly not entitled to score.
“But the pace of the shot saw the goalkeeper off.”
Former Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott paid tribute to his old team-mate Aguero for the finish.
But he also questioned the role of Lovren for the goal.
“A lot can be said about the touch and the finish, but the importance of the stutter just before he takes the strike,” Lescott said.
“Again Lovren beforehand you’re thinking ‘I’m in front of the front post, the striker has got to get two or three yards ahead of me and then take a touch and finish’.
“When you’re playing against the likes of Sergio Aguero, you can’t give him half an inch.
“That stutter just before he takes that strike, having trained with him and played against him, I know how important he stresses on where his standing foot is before he strikes the ball.”
