Maddison moved to Leicester from Norwich last summer for just under £10million.
Pochettino is currently United’s first-choice to take charge permanently following the sacking of Mourinho.
But Spurs supremo Daniel Levy is set to make things difficult for the Red Devils as he looks to keep the Argentine boss at the club.
And Christian Eriksen could also come with Pochettino to Manchester United, according to the bookies.

The Red Devils have been made favourites to sign the Denmark star as he stalls on a new contract.
But Pochettino is not worried about whether Eriksen will sign a deal at Tottenham.
“No news is good news. Who knows? I am not a person who suffers too much in this type of situation, because football is dynamic,” Pochettino said.
“Football is about interests that sometimes as a manager we cannot manage. It depends on many things. Different parties have interests.

“Of course Christian Eriksen is so important for us and you would like to have this kind of player with you. But it's a negotiation with different parties, with different interests.
“It would be fantastic if Christian Eriksen committed to the club for a long time. If not, it's his right to do what he wants to do.”
