Monday’s draw in Nyon, Switzerland saw Liverpool pitted against German Bayern Munich. The Reds secured their place in the knockout stages after they won 1-0 over Napoli at Anfield, barely surviving a late scare the team could have been kicked out at group stage. Liverpool went all the way to the final last yearbut were defeated by Real Madrid as then-Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius suffered a personal nightmare.

Champions League odds
Manchester City’s odds have shortened with Ladbrokes following the last 16 draw.
After being gifted a tie against rank 250/1 outsiders Schalke, the bookies now make Pep Guardiola's men just 11/4 to win (from 7/2).
Meanwhile, Liverpool's odds of going one better than last year currently stand at 11/1, while Man United have drifted in the betting from 28/1 to 50/1.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "City have been gifted a dream knockout tie while Liverpool, Spurs and United have it all to do. It's no surprise to see such a shake-up in the outright odds."
