Liverpool vs Man Utd: Graeme Souness tells Jose Mourinho the ONLY way to beat Reds
MANCHESTER UNITED must copy the approach of the teams that beat Liverpool in the Champions League to have a chance at Anfield today.
That is according to former Liverpool midfielder and manager Graeme Souness.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are unbeaten in the Premier League heading into the visit of Manchester United.

However, Liverpool did lose all three of their away Champions League group games earlier this season.
When you look at the games they’ve lost this year in Europe it’s when teams have had a right go at them
Napoli, Red Star Belgrade and Paris Saint-Germain all found a way of beating the Reds.
Souness says those three sides attacked Liverpool and put them under pressure.
He reckons that is the best way for United to get a result but he doubts if Jose Mourinho’s side actually have the capability of fulfilling that demand.
When asked about how teams can beat Liverpool, Souness said on Sky Sports: “I think when you look at the games they’ve lost this year in Europe it’s when teams have had a right go at them.
“The Red Star Belgrade result was a poor one for them.
“The Napoli one, the first one in the Champions League, they out-Liverpooled Liverpool if you like.
“They outworked them, put them under pressure in midfield, made them make passes they didn’t want to make, made them give the ball away cheaply.
“The three games they lost in Europe was when teams did that to them.
“Can Manchester United do that? Do they have that energy in midfield to do that? I don’t think so.
“Should they sit back and try and ride their luck?
“Here at Anfield that wouldn’t be a good idea in my opinion given what the front three are capable of.”
Liverpool are without centre-backs Joe Gomez and Joel Matip due to injury, with Trent Alexander-Arnold also a big doubt.
Alexis Sanchez remains on the sidelines for United.
Paul Pogba was named on the bench for the game.
