NBA news: LeBron James revelation made amid Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard Lakers rumours
NBA NEWS - LeBron James has been defended by Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy following comments by Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant.
LeBron has been targeted by Durant who has said he creates a ‘toxic’ atmosphere where he plays.
But Worthy denies that and says it makes no sense to him at all for KD to have made his comments.
“I don’t believe it,” Worthy told Silver Screen and Roll.
“I don’t know who these people are. I heard the little Durant story and it made absolutely no sense to me.
“LeBron James has played with Wade and Bosh, he’s gone back to Cleveland to play with some decent All-Star caliber players. His record is proven. I don’t believe that.
“Kobe I understood. At the end of his career, Kobe’s personality was a little different. He was tough. Kobe was tough, man.
“He was a winner, though, so I kind of got that but I don’t believe that with LeBron at all.
“Time will tell, but there’s no proof that that exists.”
Kevin Durant 'taken a shot' at LeBron James says pundit
Other NBA pundits have suggested the comments were made by KD to try and convince Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard to move to the same team as him.
The Los Angeles Clippers could be a destination for the duo.
Durant is likely to opt out of the final year of his contract with the Warriors to seek a max salary contract next summer.
The Lakers have been rumoured as a possible destination but his comments on LeBron have poured cold water on that idea.
LeBron and co currently sit fifth in the Western Conference with a 17-10 record.
They are back in action at 1am UK time on Friday as they take on the Houston Rockets.
Durant and the Warriors are second in the table behind the Denver Nuggets.
