Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp told to make big Mohamed Salah change ahead of Man Utd clash
LIVERPOOL star Mohamed Salah is better when he plays on the right-hand side of the front three.
Rio Ferdinand CHEERS at Mo Salah's Liverpool goal
That is the opinion of Manchester United legend and BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand.
Salah scored 44 goals in his scintillating first season at Liverpool, spending the majority of his time in a wide position.
However, he has often been played as the central striker this term and scored a hat-trick from there against Bournemouth on Saturday.
Salah reverted back to his more familiar role in the vital Champions League win over Napoli on Tuesday.
I think him playing from the right-hand side suits him better
The Egyptian scored the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win to send his team through to the last 16.
And ahead of Sunday’s visit of Manchester United, Ferdinand says playing on the right gets the best out of the 26-year-old.
“I think him playing from the right-hand side suits him better,” Ferdinand said.
“There’s a bit more freedom there, he’s not marked by two centre-halves.
“He’s playing off the right and he’s asking the centre-half and the full-back questions.
“I just feel there is a freeness in the way he plays when he plays in that area.”
Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen was working alongside Ferdinand.
Owen agreed with his sentiments and says Salah’s goal on Tuesday proved he was better on the right.

“His goal was a perfect example of that,” Owen said.
“Who picks him up when he starts on the right and comes inside?
“Is it the full-back? Is it the centre-half?
“He gets in the middle of them both and the goal was exactly like that.”
