Real Madrid news: Chelsea set price for Eden Hazard transfer as Belgium star eyes move
REAL MADRID want Chelsea star Eden Hazard - but the Belgium international is reportedly being priced out of a move as things stand.
Chelsea chairman: We'll do what we have to do to keep Hazard
Real Madrid have been linked with Chelsea star Hazard ever since losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in a £105million transfer back in the summer.
Los Blancos craved the arrival of a marquee name in July and August but, after considering Hazard, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, ended up with just Mariano Diaz instead.
Hazard has done little to put Chelsea minds at ease, praising Real Madrid in ANOTHER interview this week.
The Belgium international said: “The new coach [Sarri] thinks football like me, so we'll see, the family is in London, I'm also going to be 28.
"Me, you know me, I've always loved Real, even before [Zinedine] Zidane, we'll see what happens.
“As I said, I'm already finishing this year with Chelsea, I still have a year of contract after this year, we'll see.”
And Spanish outlet Ok Diario say Chelsea have now set Real Madrid’s price.
Hazard’s Blues deal expires in 2020 and, as of yet, no renewal is in sight.
Yet it will supposedly cost around £163million for the player to be let go.
Hazard is too good for Chelsea to lose.
But the Blues may be powerless to prevent him leaving if he continues to flirt with a Bernabeu transfer.
Meanwhile, Maurizio Sarri recently provided an update.
Eden Hazard: Chelsea ‘bonkers’ to let Belgian go says Nicol
And the Chelsea boss admitted the club were trying to keep Hazard and sign him onto a new deal.
“I want Eden here, of course, but I only want him here if he wants to stay here,” he said.
“I know that there are discussions between the club and Eden's agent every week.
“So if something new comes up the club will call me immediately.”
