Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho has dropped Paul Pogba for secret reason as new details emerge
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has been dropping Paul Pogba recently - but not for reasons previously documented.
Mourinho: Pogba has the potential to be a fantastic player
Manchester United boss Mourinho has grown frustrated with Pogba, with the France international being named on the bench for three of their last four matches.
Without him, performances have picked up. The Red Devils secured a point with an impressive 2-2 draw against Arsenal in midweek before thumping Fulham 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
As a result, Pogba’s Manchester United future has been shrouded in uncertainty. And, previously, many believe Mourinho’s issue with the World Cup winner to be personal.
Many believe Paul Pogba has been dropped because of his attitude.
Mourinho, reports have said, labelled the player a ‘virus’ because he felt the 25-year-old did not care.
The Manchester Evening News suggest, however, that Pogba has merely been dropped because of what he does - and doesn't do - on the pitch.
There is no denying the France international is an A-lister.
Pogba has demonstrated his class for club and country throughout the years, playing a key role in France’s World Cup win back in the summer.
But the MEN say Pogba has been dropped because he squanders possession too often.
Mourinho wants the player to perform consistently and simplify certain elements of his game.
And it appears his lack of selection is NOT down to their ongoing feud.
Pogba and Mourinho’s war has intensified in recent times, with the United star being hit with several punishments.
The club have banned him from opening up on United’s struggles.
And Mourinho himself stripped Pogba of the vice-captaincy back in September over what he perceived to be a poor mentality.
Meanwhile, former Holland manager Danny Blind has blamed Mourinho for Pogba’s poor united form.
"One thing Jose has to do with Pogba is instruct him to play simple," Blind told the Daily Mirror.

Man United: ‘Get rid’ of Mourinho and Pogba says Saunders
"He is the kind of player who wants to come up with complicated solutions or difficult options.
“And, in midfield, he wants to have 100,000 touches of the ball.
"He wants to shake off opponents by showing them his strength, a double shoulder push or whatever before he turns with the ball.
"But, in the Premier League, all of his opponents are equally strong, physically. He just can't do it.
“So make him pass the ball direct and simply."
