Chelsea news: Eden Hazard to Real Madrid agreement update given by Belgian journalist
CHELSEA have not reached an agreement with Real Madrid over Eden Hazard.
That’s according to respected Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur.
Reports emerged yesterday that Hazard and Real Madrid had agreed terms with talks ongoing between Los Blancos and Chelsea.
But Terreur has underlined no deal is close and the 27-year-old is staying put at Stamford Bridge for now.
He tweeted: “Cue the ‘jumping ahead of the queue’ websites announcing agreements over Eden Hazard & Real Madrid like last summer.
“Before that happens there has to be an official offer first.
“Last summer it rained agreements on the web while Chelsea kept the door shut and there were no talks.”
Hazard has made no secret of his desire to play for Real Madrid one day.
And after stalling on contract talks at Stamford Bridge, he could be off to Los Blancos sooner rather than later.
Eden Hazard admits he’s still tired from the World Cup
Chelsea are said to have offered Hazard a whopping £300,000-a-week to stay at the club with Maurizio Sarri desperate to keep his star man.
The Blues boss said: “The club is available to sign a new contract immediately but it's up to him if he wants to renew.
“I want Eden here, of course, but I want him here if he wants to stay here.
“I know very well that there are discussions between the club and the manager of Eden every week.”
Real Madrid are looking for a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and see Hazard as the perfect fit.
The winger has netted eight goals and provided six assists in all competitions so far this season.
Hazard will hope to impress against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday (5.30pm).
