Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho sends fans into MELTDOWN with Paul Pogba decision
MAN UTD fans were not happy with Jose Mourinho after he subbed Paul Pogba against Crystal Palace.
Pogba: 'Hard to concentrate' on Man United after World Cup
United were drawing the match when Mourinho decided to withdraw the Frenchman.
He was replaced by Alexis Sanchez in the 68th minute in their final substitution of the match.
But the decision did not sit very well with United supporters as their side went in search of a winner.
Fans took to Twitter to vent their anger at their boss.
One added: “WHAT IS JOSE DOING??? WE NEED A GOAL AND HE'S TOOK POGBA OFF INSTEAD OF MATIC.”
Another tweeted: “Pogba off.. I'm done.. not wasting data on watching Matic and Fellaini in midfield..”
“Madness....Pogba out sanchez in Fellaini is supposed to supply the strikers....amazing madness,” a third said.
The World Cup winner partnered Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard in midfield before being withdrawn.
Football: ESPN pundits discuss Pogba leaving Man United
One fan was gobsmacked with the decision: “It’s still 0-0 with around 25 minutes to play. Mourinho has just taken off our best player in Paul Pogba for Alexis Sánchez whilst Nemanja Matić stays on the pitch. I’m lost for words.”
“Pogba taken off. We might as well not even bother now,” another said.
Another fan took aim at Mourinho: “He took of pogba now we have the 2 slowest midlfielders in our club playing together he has lost the plot.”
Just before he was withdrawn, the 25-year-old gave the ball away sloppily and was very lucky that Luka Milivojevic’s pass wasn’t read by a team-mate or United may have been punished.
United fans were also unhappy that it wasn’t Matic that made way for the Chilean.
Another fan added: “We have Matic & Fellaini on the pitch and he took Pogba off. If I don’t laugh I cry! The man has lost it #mufc.”
A second added: “Matic could genuinely score 2 own goals, give away a penalty that leads to the 3rd and get sent off all in 1 game & then walk back into the team when he's back from suspension. Sick of him at this point.”
