Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane nominated for award, Arsenal stars snubbed
LIVERPOOL duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are on the shortlist for the 2018 BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

Salah is the current holder of the title and the favourite to retain it after scoring 42 goals last season and eight this campaign.
He also scored both of Egypt's goals at the World Cup.
Egypt and Stoke City Ladies player Sarah Essam: "Salah for us is a symbol of motivation, not just for footballers, but humans.
“In the elections for president of Egypt people voted for Salah as he was put on the ballot.
“People love him so much."
Mane is among the nominee after finishing last season as the joint-second top scorer in the Champions League with 10 goals for Liverpool.
He also played all of Senegal's World Cup games and scored against Japan.
Former DR Congo captain Gabriel Zakuani: "This is his best chance.
“Last year Salah was phenomenal, but this year Mane is in the running.
“He has been brilliant for his club and country."
The other nominees include Juventus’ Medhi Benatia, Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
Arsenal’s African duo Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alex Iwobi miss out.
