Man Utd news: Alan Brazil makes Liverpool and Man City claim about two United stars
MANCHESTER UNITED duo Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini are “not good enough” to play against the Premier League’s top teams.
Man United players 'jealous' of Man City says Hutchison
That is the verdict of talkSPORT presenter and former Manchester United striker Alan Brazil.
Herrera and Fellaini started in midfield for United alongside Nemanja Matic in the 3-1 defeat to rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
That was the fourth loss for the Red Devils already in the Premier League this season, with the likes of City and Liverpool still unbeaten.
And Brazil says there is no wonder United are struggling with Herrera and Fellaini in the team and would have much rather seen Juan Mata start the game at the Etihad.
Herrera, Fellaini in midfield. When you’re taking on a team like City or Liverpool, they’re not good enough
“Herrera, Fellaini in midfield,” he said.
“When you’re taking on a team like City or Liverpool, they’re not good enough.
“When they brought him (Mata) on I thought ‘why didn’t he start?’.”
Brazil reckons United and Mourinho will bounce back after Sunday’s disappointing result to Manchester City.
Mourinho: Man United 'made mistakes' against Man City
However, he says the Portuguese should have conceded his team were by far the second best on the day.
“One of his quotes was about conceding three goals but it was still a positive experience,” Brazil said of Mourinho.
“I’m struggling (to understand that).
“Listen, he’ll bounce back Jose, his record tells you he’s a top, top manager.
“Who’d have thought they would have gone to Turin and win?
“But I think it would have been better if he said ‘we got beaten on the day by a much, much better side’.”
Defeat to City leaves Manchester United eighth in the Premier League with 20 points from 12 games.
