Manchester United came under fire for starting a trio of tough-tackling midfielders in their line-up to face Manchester City, and the stats show they have been among the most aggressive sides in the Premier League this season.
The Red Devils have committed more fouls than almost any other team, with Nemanja Matic, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera all playing a part in boosting the tally.
However, Paul Pogba is the biggest culprit, with 21 fouls to his name in just 11 appearances in 2018/19.
Jose Mourinho has a reputation for crafting robust, hard-to-beat teams, and Man Utd appear to be no exception despite their struggles.
One team has stretched out a huge lead in the charts with over 170 fouls in just 12 games.
Arsenal also rank highly, while Chelsea and Man City have fallen foul of the referee less than any other sides.
It remains to be seen whether Mourinho's aggressive squad can salvage their season, and whether they will need to be more disciplined or act even tougher going forward.
