Wanted: Jordi Alba
Manchester United have initiated talks to sign Barcelona defender Jordi Alba.
That’s according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, who claim Manchester United have ‘made contact’ with Alba’s representatives.
Alba, 29, has 18 months remaining on his contract but Barcelona are yet to offer the Spanish international an extension.
It’s believed Ernesto Valverde’s side will address the situation at some stage but their delays have reportedly opened the door to interested parties.
Mundo Deportivo claim United chiefs have told Vicente Fores, Alaba’s agent, that they would like to secure his signature because Jose Mourinho is dissatisfied with his options at left-back.
However, SportsMole claim Manchester United will have competition from tonight’s Champions League opponents Juventus - who are also considering the full-back.

No problem with Benatia
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has played down reports which quoted defender Medhi Benatia as saying he was not getting enough playing time this season.
Benatia, who’s been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in recent months, complained about a lack of minutes and hinted at a January departure.
"It would certainly be just a case of him letting off steam," Allegri said. "Being in a big club also means being able to be left out. I think Benatia has played about half our 14 games this season in a part of the team where there are important players.
"Players like him are hard to find and the same goes for (Andrea) Barzagli, (Giorgio) Chiellini and (Daniele) Rugani. Occasionally, there is an outburst."
Pogba to Juventus plan
Juventus have a plan to lure Paul Pogba back to the club, with their fans getting involved in the project.
Juventus have been linked with a move for Pogba for months, as the Manchester United player labours under Jose Mourinho.
Pogba is set to face Juventus in the Champions League tonight and Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim the fans hope they can convince their former star to come back to Turin.
The report claims Juventus supporters will smother Pogba with love tonight in the hope it can aid the club’s overall plan to capture his signature again.

Arsenal confront issue
Arsenal may sell Danny Welbeck in January in order to avoid the same issue they have got with Aaron Ramsey.
Welbeck’s contract expires at the end of the season and Crystal Palace want to sign him.
And the Sun reckon manager Unai Emery could sell £10m-rated Welbeck after his experiences dealing with Ramsey’s situation.
Ramsey recently said his Arsenal contract offer had been withdrawn and the midfielder is now set to leave for free in the summer when his current deal expires.

Celtic transfer push
Celtic want to sign Milad Mohammadi in the January transfer window.
That is according to a report in Turkey, with claims the full-back - who can also play as a winger - is on Brendan Rodgers’ radar.
Mohammadi shot to infamy in the summer after his ‘roly-poly’ throw-in for Iran during the World Cup.
He currently plays for Russian side Akhmat Grozny but is out of contract next summer.

Rangers exclusive
Rangers want to sign FOUR new players in January, Express Sport can reveal.
Manager Steven Gerrard is keen to continue his strong start to the season and inject additional quality into the side.
Rangers want another striker, creative player, a midfielder and a defender through the doors at Ibrox in the New Year.
This is despite Ibrox chiefs last week announcing a loss in excess of £14million for the year up to June.
