I was just speaking to him and he was really disappointed
Steve McManaman on Liverpool star Andy Robertson
The pundit claims Robertson was due to be on the bench for the clash but Klopp decided at the last hour to leave him out of the 18-man squad.
And McManaman has been seriously impressed with how far Robertson has come since then.
“His rise from where he was last year to where he is this year is immense,” he said.
“We talk about some of the younger players and their trajectory and how much they’ve improved, he was the same.

“I remember talking to him away last year, I think it was the first or second game away in Moscow.
“He was in the squad on the substitutes bench but about an hour before they decided he wasn’t a substitute and he was in stands.
“I was talking to him because I was at the game of course and I was just speaking to him and he was really disappointed.
“He couldn’t even get on the bench then, let alone in the first XI.
