During his time at United, Ronaldo’s trademark was his stunning free kicks with his own unique style.
But Neville has selected a header from the forward as the best goal he has ever seen.
His goal he scored against Roma to this day is the best goal that I’ve ever seen
The goal in question was in the Champions League away to Roma in 2008, where United won the quarter-final first leg 2-0.
“His goal he scored against Roma to this day is the best goal that I’ve ever seen, the header,” Gary Neville told ESPN.
“The header away against Roma, it was the most miraculous goal I’ve ever seen.
“He jumped from the edge of the box and headed it on the penalty spot at full speed.
“He sprinted from the halfway line nearly. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
United legend Paul Scholes says the Cristiano Ronaldo goal that sticks in his mind is the winner in the Premier League against Fulham in 2007.
The 88th minute goal secured a 2-1 win and set the Red Devils on the way to the title under Sir Alex Ferguson that season.
“Some of his goals were unbelievable, his free kicks,” Scholes said.
“I always remember, I don’t know why it is, it was a big goal, but against Fulham away when we were going for the league.
“That was the one, the dribble, the finish and his celebration afterwards.
“Of all the great goals he scored, I know it was a great goal, but that’s the one I always think about Cristiano for.”
