Man Utd have ‘agreement’ with Zinedine Zidane to replace Jose Mourinho - shock claim
MANCHESTER UNITED have an agreement with Zinedine Zidane to replace Jose Mourinho, Richard Keys claims.
Mourinho is under immense pressure at Old Trafford.
United’s comeback win against Newcastle before the international break saved Mourinho’s job as the axe loomed.
Former Real Madrid boss Zidane has been tipped to replace Mourinho at Old Trafford.
And pundit Keys reckons United already have an agreement with the Frenchman.
More convinced than ever that United have an ‘agreement’ with Zidane
He tweeted: “More convinced than ever that United have an ‘agreement’ with Zidane.
“Jose would understand surely? He had similar as he circled round LvG.”
A lot has been made of Zidane potentially replacing Mourinho at United.
However, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says the Frenchman will not take over at Old Trafford in the near future.
Mourinho should stick to his 'style of play' says pundit
Balague, brand ambassador for Football Index, the revolutionary platform which gives users the ability to buy, sell and build a portfolio of players, exclusively told Express Sport: “If he was offered the job tomorrow, I do not think he would take it.
“I just don’t think it is what he wants to do tomorrow.
“I think for the next few months he is quite happy to just take a break.”
However, former United star Lee Sharpe has expressed his desire to see Zidane take the reins.
"I think Zidane would be the ideal candidate," Sharpe said.
"He’s played at the highest level, managed at the highest level and has been successful at both.
"He’s a big enough name who could cope with the pressure and the questions asked of managing a club of that size so I think he would be ideal."
United have had a hit and miss start to the season under Mourinho.
Should the Red Devils lose at Chelsea this afternoon, United will be 10 points behind the Premier League leaders.
