Dean Smith reveals what John Terry will bring to Aston Villa
Smith has left Brentford to take over an Aston Villa that are down in 15th in the Championship table.
They have won just three of their first 12 league games but Rosenior, a leading pundit for Sky Sports' EFL coverage, has backed Smith to turn it around.
"For me he's the right man - he's what Aston Villa need," Rosenior told The Verdict.
"Dean Smith has been outstanding his whole managerial career. What he has is a really attacking philosophy.
"It's great and he's got a real identity. As much as I like Steve Bruce as a manager, it wasn't happening for Aston Villa. They didn't have a way of playing.
"With the players and the squad they have got there, with someone with a clear vision and a way that he wants to coach and wants to play, I think they are going to be a real threat.
"The fact he has gone in there with John Terry, who understands the club, has been there recently and obviously has had fantastic leadership qualities, he's going to be a huge help to him.
"I think Dean Smith will be a huge help to John Terry as well as he's been there and done it at a lower level. He knows what it takes to be a manager."

Smith, 47, was unveiled as Aston Villa boss on Monday. As well as having Terry on board, he will be assisted by
Richard O'Kelly after they combined at the Bees and Walsall.
"Brentford run in a unique way. What this Aston Villa need is coaching," Rosenior added.
"Dean Smith is a great coach, that's why Brentford appointed him as he fitted with the way they wanted to run from a footballing point of view.
