Liverpool news: Fabinho makes bold claim about Reds team-mate
LIVERPOOL star Sadio Mane has the quality to be considered one of the best players in the world.
Paul Mariner: Sadio Mane is a player you pay to watch
That is the view of his Liverpool team-mate Fabinho.
Mane made a fast start to the season with four goals to race to the top of the goalscoring charts.
But the goals have since slowed down for the Senegal international and he hasn’t scored in his last seven games.
However, Fabinho has no doubts about the 26-year-old’s quality.
"Sadio Mane is an excellent player," Fabinho told Goal.
"Before I came to Liverpool, I saw him on TV and I liked him a lot.
"He is very fast and very intelligent. He has everything to continue growing to become one of the best players in the world.
"I hope he continues with us for a long time. It is a pleasure to play alongside him."
So far this season, Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah haven’t hit the heights of last year when they scored 57 Premier League goals between them.
But Fabinho is confident the trio will rediscover their form.
"Our trio of attack is one of the most powerful in the world of football," Fabinho said.
"They are complete, they are very fast, they have a very fast thinking speed, and they understand each other very well.
"They want to get better and they are very hungry for goals.
“Our team is very good because of the strength of our attack.
“I hope they score many goals this season.”
