Paul Pogba: Man Utd star urged to have Jose Mourinho showdown talks amid crisis
PAUL POGBA and Jose Mourinho need to shut themselves in an office until their feud is sorted, according to former France striker Djibril Cisse.
French World Cup winner Pogba and Mourinho have been in a dispute for a number of weeks, after the midfielder told reporters he believes Manchester United should attack more.
These comments from Pogba were made after United were held to a 1-1 draw against newly-promoted Wolves at Old Trafford.
After this incident, Mourinho told him he would never captain United again whilst he was manager - in front of his team-mates.
Pogba was dropped from the United team to face Derby in the Carabao Cup, a game United would go on to lose on penalties.
The midfielder was criticised for posting on social media during the match, before appearing to leave early.
The following day at training, cameras caught the pair in a frosty exchange, in which Mourinho reportedly grilled Pogba over the video.
Pogba was back in the team to face West Ham, but was pulled off after an hour in the 3-1 defeat.
Now, with tensions at a critical stage, Cisse has given his opinion on how he feels the pair need to resolve the issue.
“I understand what Paul is going through and what he thinks,” the Frenchman explained.
“But whether we like it or not, in football, there is a hierarchy.
“There is a manager and a player will never win against a manager.
“I don’t understand his video at half-time (referring to the Instagram story that saw Pogba smiling during United’s struggles vs. Derby).
“Your team is in the process of losing… I understand why Mourinho was annoyed, they need to shut themselves in an office and talk it out.”
Following the incident between the two, odds have been slashed on Mourinho to leave the club.
The bookies currently have Mourinho as the favourite in the ‘sack race’, and are offering odds of 11/8 that he is the next Premier League manager to lose his job.
