Man Utd news: Frank Lampard reveals what he thinks about Jose Mourinho and his team
MANCHESTER UNITED are a great team with a great manager in Jose Mourinho, according to Derby boss Frank Lampard.
Manchester United boss Mourinho managed Lampard while at Chelsea, and will lock horns with his old student when Derby visit Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
The Red Devils go up against the Championship outfit aiming to bounce back after a dire 1-1 draw with Wolves yesterday.
Manchester United won the EF Cup in Mourinho’s first season at the club - but they were sensationally beaten by Bristol City at the quarter-final stage.
Lampard has now lauded Mourinho ahead of their meeting, backing him to be a huge hit.
The former Chelsea midfielder said: “We know what we're coming up again.
“A great Manchester United team that's been put together.
“The fact we're on telly against one of the best teams in the Premier League is a challenge for us.
“If we put in the energy we did today then we'll give a good account of ourselves.
“We must do it because it's going to be a very tough ask.
“What we can't do is go there and walk away and say we should've done this or that.
“We have to give everything and make sure it doesn't pass you by.
“Whether we can win or not is a very tough order but we need to have our fans coming away proud of the team.”

On Jose Mourinho, he added: “I’m looking forward to seeing him.
“On a personal level, he was a manager who was very influential on my career.
“We've spoken in the last 24 hours to congratulate me but it was very brief but we talked family.
“I learned a lot from him and I appreciate it.”
