Barcelona wanted to sign Pogba from Manchester United this summer but, despite bidding £45million plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, were unable to snap him up.
Transfer talk does, however, remain ongoing and, with the Red Devils stuck in a rut, a January move could happen.
Express Sport understands Barcelona are willing to play the long game when it comes to luring Pogba to Catalonia.
It was a tactic that worked well for them a year ago when, having missed out on Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, they were rewarded for their patience just mere months later.

Balague also thinks United need better from their current midfielders following their 1-1 draw with Wolves yesterday.
“It’s quite clear they need two centre-backs,” Balague added.
“It’s also clear that, despite Nemanja Matic, they also need another holding midfielder of quality.
“For me, though, the key to them is the last third.
“They have a lot of pace, of course, with Martial, Rashford and Mata too.
“But more of that is needed. I think they need midfielders who can provide more service to the players up top.”
