Anthony Martial is not good enough for Man United says pundit
Manchester United fears for Martial are growing with the France international continuing to spend the bulk of his time stuck on the bench.
The 22-year-old got on the scoresheet in midweek - ending an eight-month goal drought in the process - but was among the substitutes for yesterday’s draw with Wolves.
At present, Martial has found his path to the team blocked by Alexis Sanchez, who remains a shadow of the player who blitzed Premier League teams apart at Arsenal.
And the Evening Standard say Lukaku’s presence is also stopping the Manchester United man from kicking on.
Martial has spent the last two years stunted out wide.
But he was actually signed as an orthodox centre-forward by Louis van Gaal back in the summer of 2015.
At the time, the Dutchman was scrambling for another attacking addition.
Radomes Falcao had returned to Monaco, having hit just four goals during a dire loan spell, and Robin van Persie had been flogged to Fenerbahce.
That left United with just Wayne Rooney to call upon at the time.

Martial delivered in his debut season, scoring a stunning solo goal against Liverpool on his debut.
He eventually ended that campaign with a respectable 17 goals to his name.
The Evening Standard say any chances of him playing up top again, however, are remote.
And that is because of Mourinho’s admiration for Lukaku.
