Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp makes squad fitness claim ahead of Southampton clash
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has dismissed concerns about his team’s fitness for this weekend’s Premier League clash against Southampton.
Klopp’s men enjoyed a fantastic night on Tuesday as they beat PSG 3-2 in their openingChampions League group stage match.

Klopp is not worried about suffering from a European hangover, as the German points out that Southampton have only had one additional day’s rest, following their Monday night match.
"It's always difficult when one team plays in the week and the other one doesn’t,” Klopp said.

“In this case, Southampton played on Monday night so only had a day more than us to recover.
"Tuesday-Saturday should not be a problem. I am pretty sure it will not be a problem focus-wise, but we need to prove that.”
Klopp has laid down a challenge to his squad and to Liverpool supporters.
"Now we have to show that we can switch between competitions,” Klopp said.
“Famous, famous European nights, yes, but the boys deserve a brilliant atmosphere, and that's what we need against Southampton.
