Arsenal news: Could Ivan Gazidis exit trigger star transfer move? Pundit makes prediction
ARSENAL star Aaron Ramsey could leave the club - but he will NOT be following Ivan Gazidis to AC Milan.
Aaron Ramsey won't follow Gazidis to AC Milan says expert
That is the verdict of ESPN FC pundit and former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.
Arsenal chief executive Gazidis is resigning from his role and will take up the same position at AC Milan.
Since that news broke on Tuesday, Gunners midfielder Ramsey has been linked with the Serie A giants.
Ramsey’s contract at Arsenal is up at the end of the season and there has seemingly been no progression over an extension.
I just feel that if Aaron Ramsey does leave Arsenal, it won’t be in following Ivan Gazidis
But Hislop does not think the Wales international will end up in Milan if he does leave the club.
“This one is all because Ivan Gazidis has moved to AC Milan and now you put two and two together,” he said.
“Aaron Ramsey’s contract is up next summer.
“But still, I just feel that if Aaron Ramsey does leave Arsenal, it won’t be in following Ivan Gazidis.
“I’m going to put that down as a miss.”
Gazidis was instrumental in bringing head coach Unai Emery to the Emirates earlier this year to replace Arsene Wenger.
And the Spaniard has paid tribute to the outgoing CEO this week.
“The first three months with Ivan were very important for me because he’s a big person, and a professional person too,” said Emery.
“The relationship between us was very close for three months.
“We spoke a lot about football, about management, about how big Arsenal is and our responsibility.
“His decision is a private one which I respect.
“I know Ivan is giving us the best next people [successors] to take the responsibility to continue to do good work.”
