Cristiano Ronaldo: Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri reveals doubts over Juventus signing
CRISTIANO RONALDO is yet to convince in Italy and Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is unsure he will steer Juventus to titles this season.
Ronaldo: Juventus move wasn't a difficult decision to make
Juventus paid £105m to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid in the summer.
Ronaldo quit Real after nine trophy-laden years at the Bernabeu.
But he is yet to score in his three appearances for Juventus, triggering worries his powers are waning.
And Sarri admits that while Ronaldo has everything in his power to succeed in Italy, the Juve squad may not be good enough to help him reach his goals.
We need to see his adaptation to Italian football
Asked if Ronaldo has increased the void between Juventus and last year’s runners-up Napoli, Sarri said: "On a theoretical level, yes.
“But then the squad is a factor as well.
“We need to see his adaptation to Italian football and understand if the other Juventus players will keep him at the same level of the past few years.”
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juve sit top of Serie A already with three wins from three to their name.
But Napoli, the club Sarri was forced out of in the summer, are already three points behind their title rivals.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side were smashed 3-0 at Sampdoria last weekend in a humbling defeat for the Scudetto hopefuls.
Asked about Ancelotti’s chances of success, Sarri said: “I hope so for the city, for the fans.
“Naples is an extraordinary city, it deserves to win the Scudetto.
Ronaldo teased after missing a volley in Juventus training
“As a supporter of Napoli I'm happy that Carlo is now the coach because he has not only won trophies everywhere he’s been.
"But he always made everyone want to play for him.
“It means that his human and professional qualities are extraordinary.”
