Tottenham news: Harry Kane delivers title verdict after Man Utd win
HARRY KANE reckons Tottenham’s best chances of winning the title is to finish off teams like Manchester United.
Mauricio Pochettino picked up his first win at Old Trafford as Tottenham boss as his side thrashed Manchester United 3-0 on Monday evening.
A Kane header and a double from Lucas Moura ensured three points for Spurs who previously hadn’t scored in their past four trips to Manchester.
While the performance was left to be desired in the first half, the north London outfit shone in the second.
Jose Mourinho cut a disgruntled figure as United failed to make amends for their 3-2 defeat away to Brighton eight days ago.
Speaking after the game, he said: “That's massive. To come here and win the way we did is a big statement.
“Three wins out of three, it's a fantastic start.
“We did well to come in at 0-0 at half-time.
“In the big games, the first goal is so important.
That's massive. To come here and win the way we did is a big statement.
"We then saw the game out great.”
Kane believes such results will make Spurs genuine title contenders.
He added: “This is the only way we're going to win the league.
“The top six is so strong now you have to stay at the top all the way through.
“This will give us huge belief and this is the type of game we have to win."
Spurs are level on points with Liverpool at the top of the table with just goal difference separating the two sides.
