Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho ‘looks emotional’ after Tottenham loss - Gary Neville
MANCHESTER UNITED manager Jose Mourinho “looked emotional” following the 3-0 loss to Tottenham tonight.
Mourinho STORMS out press conference after Spurs loss
That is the verdict of Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville.
Tottenham beat United 3-0 at Old Trafford to condemn the Red Devils to a second Premier League defeat in three games this season.
A brace from Lucas Moura following a Harry Kane header led Spurs to a convincing win.
After the game, Mourinho went onto the pitch to console his disappointed players.
He looks emotional to me
The Portuguese then stood in front of the crowd at the Stretford End and applauded the supporters who had stayed for a good amount of time.
And Neville says the gesture from Mourinho was an emotional one.
“He looks emotional to me,” Gary Neville said.
“The ones who stayed behind and supporting him.”
Neville’s colleague Jamie Carragher says he had seen something similar before from Jose Mourinho when he was Real Madrid manager.
“He always does the unexpected Mourinho,” Carragher said.
“I’ve seen him one time at the Bernabeu when he stood just outside on the pitch on his own when fans were actually whistling at him.”
On the performance, Neville said it quickly turned to chaos for United after a promising start.

“I have to say, he wanted a response after Brighton,” Neville added.
“There was an intensity to United in the first 30 minutes I have not seen in a long time.
“But once the game settled down it went from intensity to, to be honest with you, chaos, particularly defensively.”
The defeat will only fuel speculation over Mourinho's United future, with the Portuguese the favourite to lose his job next in the Premier League.
Victory moves Tottenham up to second in the table, with United dropping to 13th.
