Mourinho’s future at United has come into question once again following their shocking 3-2 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.
His relationship with players including Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial has become increasingly strained in recent months.
Both players have been linked with moves elsewhere amid reports of bust-ups with Mourinho
But while Mourinho’s relationships with Pogba and Martial remain volatile, Brazilian Pereira has painted a more harmonious picture of life under the Portuguese manager.
“We rely on him because he always prepares the team well, he knows what to do,” Pereira said in an interview with the Premier League.
“He’s a winner, and he always wants to win so because he’s like that we turn into that, and we want to be like him.
“So we turn into winners as well, it’s very important.
“When I’m here back now he helped me with everything, he tells me what to do, he tells me what not to do, so I am very happy that he helps me and he gives this opportunity.”
While United slumped to a humiliating defeat to Brighton in their second Premier League game of the season, Pereira believes United have the quality to do well this term.
“If I look around, we have quality, we have potential, we have very good players all round,” Pereira added.
“There are a lot of good teams in the Premier League, and they are getting stronger and stronger, but we getting stronger and stronger as well.”
