Ospina signed for Arsenal in 2014 and made 70 appearances in that time.
And the Colombia international was in goal for the 2017 FA Cup final win over Chelsea.
In the past three seasons, Ospina has been the second-choice goalkeeper behind Petr Cech.
But the arrival of Bernd Leno has seen Ospina slip down the pecking order and manager Unai Emery made him available for transfer.
Arsenal said in a statement: “We would like to wish David the very best for the season.”
Ospina’s departure was the third at Arsenal today.
Joel Campbell joined Serie A side Frosinone Calcio on a permanent transfer after seven years at Arsenal.
The 26-year-old made 40 first-team appearances for the Gunners but spent much of his time on loan.
Campbell spent time at Lorient, Olympiacos, Villarreal, Sporting Lisbon and had two spells with La Liga side Real Betis.
Elsewhere, Stephy Mavididi signed for Juventus.
The 20-year-old forward will initially join the Italian side's 'B' team.
Mavididi came through Arsenal’s academy but was unable to break into the first-team.
