Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp 'would think about' Germany offer in future
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted he would consider an offer from the German FA to take over the national side.
The Reds manager has been linked with a return to Germany on numerous occasions over the years, including after the World Cup in Russia this year.
Klopp was also touted for the previously vacant Real Madrid post earlier this summer after the departure of Zinedine Zidane.
However, the Liverpool boss has always remained committed to the Merseyside outfit.
And while Klopp isn't envisaging leaving the Premier League any time soon, he admits he would think about an offer from the German national team.
"Should I be asked at some point and I'm available, then I would think about it," he told German outlet Welt am Sonntag.
"But am I thinking about it right now, in my current situation being tied to Liverpool for the next four years and only because Germany have just played a bad World Cup?
"No. I'm not available."
Germany suffered a poor World Cup under Joachim Low, crashing out at the group stage after losing to Mexico and South Korea.
Low will remain in the job heading into the 2020 European Championships.
However, there is a strong feeling Klopp will one day take charge of his native country at a major tournament.
For now, the former Borussia Dortmund boss is enjoying his time at Anfield.
Liverpool brought in four new arrivals this summer, totalling more than £150m.
Xherdan Shaqiri, Alisson, Naby Keita and Fabinho have all joined the Reds in recent weeks as they look to challenge for the Premier League title.
Liverpool got their domestic campaign up and running with a comfortable win over West Ham this afternoon.
