Barcelona want Pogba still
Barcelona remain interested in Paul Pogba and will look to bring him to Spain even if it’s not during this transfer window, according to reports.
The Telegraph claim Barca are keen to sign Pogba and are ready for a long pursuit to sign him from Manchester United.
Pogba admitted there were things he couldn’t say regarding his happiness at the club for a fear of getting fined.
Pogba was named captain for United’s opening game and scored the first goal as they beat Leicester on Friday night.
Man Utd transfer disappointment
Rio Ferdinand has admitted he was disappointed not to see Toby Alderweireld join Manchester United this summer.
“I was in favour of bringing Toby Alderweireld from Spurs,” he told BT Sport. “When playing regularly, I think he’s within the top two or three centre-halves in the country, in this league.
“I think he’s a fantastic player, he proved it again at the World Cup after not playing so many games last season.
“I thought he was a definite, he would have been my go-to choice to be honest.”
Fekir to stay put
Liverpool and Chelsea target Nabil Fekir will stay at Lyon for this summer at least.
That’s according to the Ligue 1 club’s chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.
“We will have to wait until the end of the transfer window,” said Aulas on Sunday.
“But he will stay, at 95 per cent.
“We’ve seen the love of the fans for him.
“Lyon is a great city of football.”
Fekir has also been linked with Real Madrid after making his mark at Lyon.
Arsenal transfer prediction
Gary Neville says Arsenal manger Unai Emery will need at least 18 months to get his team in order.
Emery signed five players over the summer - all in defensive positions - and the Gunners were taken apart in their 2-0 loss to Manchester City today.
And Neville reckons Arsenal fans will need to be patient until Emery gets success in future transfer markets.
”It's going to take Emery three or four transfer windows to sort this out,” Neville said.
Barcelona transfer latest
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde admits he is not sure if Ousmane Dembele will stay at the club.
Dembele is wanted at PSG after Arsenal’s interest in the striker dwindled last week.
PSG are said to have met with the player’s agent regarding a possible move and Valverde concedes he in the dark over the player’s future.
“I do not know if Dembele can leave. I am the coach and I want him to stay,” he said. “The coach has him and does not think about players coming out.”
Chelsea deal agreed
Chelsea have agreed to send Ola Aina on loan to Torino.
The deal will see right-back Aina join the Turin club for the 2018/19 season.
There is a £7.5m option to buy the player at the end of the campaign.
Chelsea have already sent Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan to Milan today, with that deal also including an option to buy.
Courtois' agent speaks out
Thibaut Courtois left Chelsea for Real Madrid to be with his family, his agent has claimed.
"There has been a misunderstanding that he wanted to get a move for the wrong reasons, but he was pushing to go out of Chelsea because of his child," Christophe Henrotay said.
"If the family were in London it would have been totally different. He would have stayed, there is no reason to leave a club like Chelsea, he could have won trophies.
"Unfortunately his kids are living with the mother in Madrid."
Pogba exit hint?
Paul Pogba has dropped a clue on his Manchester United future amid interest from Barcelona - and it may leave Red Devils fans wondering.
“There are things, and there are things that I cannot say, otherwise I will get fined,” Pogba said.
"I always give my best for the fans, for the teammates and for the people that trust me.
"With the players that we have, of course we're Manchester United, we have to look at the top of the league. That's obvious.
"I mean, Manchester United, we have to show on the pitch, we have to play well, we have to be focused and we need people to trust us."
Real Madrid to make Hazard bid
Real Madrid will up their pursuit of Eden Hazard next week after being told £150m is not enough to sign the Chelsea star.
Hazard is open to leaving Chelsea and is yet to sign the new £300,000-a-week contract offered by the club.
Express Sport understands the Blues want close to £200m for their Belgium superstar.
And Real are lining up a fresh bid that could come close to Chelsea’s valuation.
Klopp stopped deal
Newcastle tried to sign Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan on deadline day.
The Chronicle say Rafa Benitez, who wanted a centre-half, asked for the Reds centre-back.
However, Newcastle’s approach was quickly rejected.
Jurgen Klopp had no interest in selling Klavan this summer.
Rudiger on Kepa
Antonio Rudiger has hailed Chelsea’s record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga.
"I think he did well. He tried to speak as much as he can. He did well with that and we as defenders we needed to help him and we did that," the German centre-back told Sky Sports News.
"In general, it was a very good day. We all know Thibaut's quality, but Thibaut's not a Chelsea player anymore. I wish him good luck at Real Madrid, but now we have to concentrate on Kepa because he's our goalkeeper. In his work he's very confident.
"We're happy because to be honest our pre-season games were not that good. But today we can be more happy because we won the game. Three goals and a clean sheet. That's good for us.
"It's not always easy to adapt because it's a new style of play, but I think we did well. We moved the ball well and to have a good bench is always good."

Chelsea made Oblak bid
Chelsea failed with an £89.4m bid for Jan Oblak before the transfer window shut.
The Blues ended up signing Kepa Arrizabalaga in a world-record deal.
However, the Times say Chelsea made a mammoth bid for Oblak before landing Kepa.
Oblak decided against joining the Blues to continue at Atletico Madrid.
