Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying results: Confirmed grid – Hamilton on pole, Ricciardo 12th
LEWIS HAMILTON will start the Hungarian Grand Prix from pole position after a chaotic wet qualifying session at the Hungaroring.
Lewis Hamilton snatched his fifth pole position of the season in a dramatic wet Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying session.
The Mercedes ace pulled off a stunning lap with the chequered flag already out to beat his team-mate Valtteri Bottas and the Ferraris of Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel.
Toro Rosso enjoyed a brilliant afternoon with Pierre Gasly sixth and Brendon Hartley eighth, while Carlos Sainz managed to steer his Renault into a shock fifth.
Meanwhile, Red Bull had a tough time in the changeable conditions with Max Verstappen seventh and Daniel Ricciardo failing to make it out of Q2.
