Ted Kravitz has found himself a whopping £0.45p richer after correctly predicting  Lando Norris to finish in P4 ahead of Max Verstappen in a wager with McLaren boss Andrea Stella. The Sky Sports F1 pit-lane reporter was enjoying a pre-race chat with Norris on Sunday (September 15) revealing he bet on the Brit to finish fourth in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix ahead of the reigning champion, despite starting the race in 15th.

Brandishing a One Azerbaijan Manat dollar during the interview, Kravitz told the 24-year-old: "I'm not a betting man, but I've made a One Manat (£0.45p) wager with Andrea [Stella] that you'll finish P4 in front of Max" to which Norris funnily responded: "Damn, how do I do that".

Kravitz flipped the question back to the two-time race winner who admitted finishing ahead of the Dutchman on the track in Baku is no easy feat as he replied: "It's not an easy thing to do around a street circuit".

Kravitz's correct forecast of Norris nudging ahead of Verstappen, who finished in P5, saw the reporter being peppered by fans wanting him to put his predictions to good use. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote: "Any other predictions we should know about!" while another jokingly commented: "Lottery numbers please Ted...."

A third had some good advice for Kravitz by telling him: "You should have put a lot more on that". Norris' one-place finish ahead of Verstappen only cut down the gap between the pair by three points with the three-time champion remaining 59 points ahead of his challenger.

Controversy between the drivers - who are friends off the track - threatened to rear its head after Norris brought to his team's attention over the radio that Verstappen was allegedly overtaking cars under Virtual Safety Car conditions after the chequered flag was waved.

The Grand Prix ended under VSC conditions following a race-ending collision between Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez. Norris' complaint meant Verstappen had to visit the stewards after the race as he was cited for an alleged VSC infringement for overtaking after the chequered flag.

After the chequered flag, Verstappen caught up to Norris and waved at him before overtaking Russell as Norris said to McLaren: "Max is overtaking everyone. It’s still a VSC, right? I don’t know if it still matters or not, but it’s still a VSC." Alongside Nico Hulkenberg, Esteban Ocon, and Pierre Gasly, Verstappen was punished by the FIA with a warning.

Norris insisted that his intention was not to get his fellow driver in trouble, instead, he was merely "stating facts". Speaking to F1 TV, he said: "I didn’t complain about anything, I just stated facts. I just had VSC on my dash with the yellow lights. Obviously, there was a crash with paramedics on track which normally means no overtaking but he was overtaking."
