The Brit was dealt a major blow at the start of the race, spinning out after a collision with Kimi Raikkonen during the opening lap.
Hamilton fell to the back of the grid but picked himself up immediately, moving his way back through the field to rejoin the big players.
The reigning champion ended the race in second, overtaking team-mate Valtteri Bottas with three laps remaining.
But Hamilton didn't look best pleased as Sky Sport's Martin Brundle went to interview the podium finishers after the race.
"Where is Lewis? It would be good to hear from him," said the presenter.
It was my mistake so that was fine
At that point the camera panned to Hamilton, who was already marching towards the building.
Brundle did manage to speak to Raikkonen, who took full responsibility for the opening lap chaos.
"He spun, it was my bad but that is how it goes sometimes," he said.
"It was not a straightforward race. It was my mistake so that was fine.
"That is how it goes.
"Without the mistakes and the penalty it would have been better, but I tried."
Later on, Brundle went on to explain why Hamilton avoided him at first.
"The reason Lewis didn't talk to me in the Parc Ferme is because he wanted time to go and calm down," he said on Sky Sports.
"He was so angry about that. He didn't see it as a last-to-second comeback drive.
"He saw it as somebody torpedoed me off the race track.
"He scampered out of Parc Ferme, up the stairs.
"Matteo Bonciani of the FIA said 'be careful with him, he's really not happy at all at the moment'.
"So by the time I came out on the podium, I think he composed himself.
"I don't think he wanted to say any words that he'd regret down there."
